psychologytoday therapist

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I specialize in helping you improve communication, set boundaries and reduce anxiety. In our sessions I will help you develop a healthier relationship with emotions, enhance interpersonal relationships, and facilitate an increase in self compassion.

My want is to foster a sincere and empathetic relationship with you in a safe space, these things are essential to your healing journey. I use Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), this approach will help you become more aware of, understand, and regulate your emotions. We will process emotionally charged experiences together, making sense of emotionally significant moments and healing from traumatic events.

I received my graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Houston. I have a background in working with different age ranges and currently specialize in teens, adults and families. Throughout graduate school I worked with couples using The Gottman Method, which helps couples learn healthy communication skills to better navigate conflict. For the past three years I have been working in private practice in the Houston area, this has given me the opportunity to focus on my work with teens, young adults, couples, and parents.

I am a Gottman level 2 trained, EFIT level 1 trained and a Safe Sound Protocol provider. Some other specialized trainings include Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Adlerian Play Therapy, polyvegal theory, co parenting, and parallel parenting.

When I am not working I like to travel, spend time outside and hang out with my family and pets.
